The solution focuses on hydrodynamic innovation, maintainability in modular platforms, and design-for-assembly principles that can enhance operational resilience at sea. With wide potential across defense, offshore renewables, marine research, and commercial shipping, the platform is being developed to support UK-led propulsion capability, while enabling reduced emissions and improved reliability in harsh conditions.

Launchpad funding will accelerate core concept development---supporting fluid dynamics analysis, system schematics, and refinement of component-level design. Outcomes from this project will inform the future development of physical prototypes, industrial partnerships, and deeper engagement with testing and certification environments.

The project supports the wider objectives of the Great South West cluster by anchoring strategic innovation and advanced engineering activity within the region. Hydrastorm's aim is to deliver sovereign propulsion technologies that underpin a new generation of adaptable, high-performance maritime platforms.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
