This has led to the scenario where many medicines are not specifically designed for use in children, which can result in poor effectiveness. To address this issue, the European Medicines Agency has recently issued a priority list for studies into non-patented medicinal products for children. This project hopes to exploit the objective of this list by undertaking research and development into medicines prioritised for need in children. The successful outcome of this project will be the development of age appropriate formulations for children, that will deliver medicines in an appropriate, efficacious and safe manner.
