The rise of Additive Manufacturing (AM) among Holtex's customers has highlighted some potential new opportunities for Electrochemical Machining (ECM) and the related Electrochemical Polishing (EP).

Certain materials that have been highlighted as key to Nuclear and Medical industries (Tungsten & Nitinol respectively) are difficult to process due to metallurgy and response to existing electrolytes. Target materials cannot at present be treated adequately and a successful development of technology would require innovative advances that would represent a disruptive introduction into the AM marketplace.

**Innovation**

Holtex Ltd is a problem-solving engineering SME based in West Yorkshire, providing Electrochemical Machine (ECM) and related services. The business has successfully proven the use case of Dynamic Contour electrodes through ElectroForm and are actively exploiting the technology to great success across 3 materials (Titanium, Stainless Steel & Aluminium). This project looks to expand on indicative test results that suggest a change in materials and parameters will unlock the potential of ElectroForm across a wider range of materials serving strategically critical applications including Nuclear Fusion.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
