This pilot programme will replicate the success of Quids In's financial planning tool to help people reduce the risk of diabetes, prepare for older age, and explore new approaches to finding the right job right now.

Like our money health check programme, these new web-based Apps start with a simple quiz to see what you have in place already. Many on low incomes are very resourceful but people don't know what they don't know, so our researchers and writers fill the gaps.

* It's a game: Score yourself based on what you do already
* It's a challenge: Improve your score by following our tips for improving your health, future plans or preparing to boost your income
* It's a lifestyle: Check out the latest advice for getting the most out of life.

This is not a scheme. The Equaliser Apps are for people who feel like they always seem to be the last to find out what they need to know. Not a big reader? Or bored of reading leaflets talking down to you? Our guidance will appear in video form and using simple language, which can be translated into over 100 languages or altered on-screen so it's easier to read. We've consulted the biggest experts in the field but our tips are written by people who have been there.

The Equaliser Apps level the playing field. We want to end the reasons why poorer people die younger, have a limited quality of life and get stuck being poor.

* In 2021, the UK Health Foundation found wealthier people with diabetes enjoy 19 years healthier living. Let's help people diagnosed as pre-diabetic to swerve the disease
* In 2021/22, there were 2.1 million older people living in poverty. Let's get things in place early, starting with people turning 50
* Unemployed people living on a shoestring struggle with the costs of travel, clothing and childcare. Let's break the cycle of unemployment

We will prove how this is better for everyone, from the NHS to employers and care services. All this would save the public purse too, if only someone could tell us how... And that's exactly what we're here for.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
