The tool leverages physical network modelling and big data to dynamically determine risk impact assessment criteria and provide real-time analysis of the potential impacts of cyber-attacks on grid stability and resilience. In doing so we will address common issues with cyber-physical risk assessment methodologies which are often reactive as opposed to proactive, disregard real-time operational status and are therefore incapable of fully assessing networks on an appropriate timescale to be able to prevent or mitigate fast cascading cyber-attacks.

The concept has been designed to address key challenges in energy grid cyber security and known gaps in cyber risk impact awareness with information given in an easy-to-understand and user-driven format aimed at distribution network operators (DNOs) within the UK and Europe. Grant funding will accelerate development and exploitation in the global smart grid security market, forecast to reach $23.3Bn by 2032 (serviceable obtainable market estimated at ~&amp;pound;125Mn p.a.), supports geographical expansion (North/South-America, Asia-Pacific) and enables new R&amp;amp;D investment across application to cyber-physical transportation and manufacturing sectors.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
