Aided Theatre (CAT) project for investment. CAT is a live writing and directing platform that
enables personalised interaction, audience choice and dynamic narrative development in
immersive live entertainment. CAT brings together our technical and creative expertise to
develop a digital tool-kit for live interactive creation processes, focusing initially on
personalisation of audience experiences in interactive/immersive theatre. Tools will include
data collecting hardware, narrative management software and performer prompting
protocols/wearables. By using live data to dynamically alter cast cues and narrative
progression CAT tools help us meet our creative aim of addressing the gulf in audience
agency in immersive theatre compared to other digital narrative forms such as computer
games, pervasive experiences and interactive installations.
Our primary business aim is to create the materials needed to pitch for investment for POC in
a theatrical context and ascertain the size of opportunity in sectors beyond our experience.
Following demonstration in that context the tool-kit will be available to develop real-world
interactivity management products for different markets. Our vision is to extend the
responsiveness of online gaming environments to real world performance by adapting gamedesign
knowledge of player profiling and responsive systems to physical spaces with the
added benefits of live human steering. This POM phase will report on market size across the
theatre and events sectors in the UK and US. Our objective is to survey potential customers to
ascertain which benefits and functionalities are most important to them as well as informing
pricing and design. Competitor and internal SWOT analysis will ensure marketing and
delivery plans are robust. Legal advice will establish internal IP and confidentiality
agreements to protect our IP during investment negotiation.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
