through large display panels that serve as ‘magic windows’ onto rooms, views and exteriors.
The system combines performances by real or virtual actors against the real-life, real-time
‘set’ of a historic location. The filmed action and the live video feed of the set are integrated
into a composite video image shown on a display panel. Visitors see on-screen the action
taking place amongst the furniture and against the live background.
Unlike a film simply made and then shown in the same location, the Living Rooms system
shows real-time changes in the space, such as changing light conditions or the bustle of people
in the background. Visitors experience the action as if it were happening in the space they
share in the here and now.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
