By collaborating with NPL, we will deploy advanced characterisation methods to assess and refine our encapsulated ingredients, ensuring optimal bioactivity retention, stability, and performance.

This project will focus on using bespoke micro-/nano-scale 3D chemical and structural measurement techniques, including LD, SEM, Raman and XPS, to understand powder size, morphology, colloidal stability, chemical composition and loading of targeted molecules. By applying these sophisticated tools, we aim to improve the consistency and functionality of our powders, enhancing their application in nutraceuticals, functional foods, and sustainable packaging solutions.

A key aspect of this project is its emphasis on clean-label ingredients, ensuring that our formulations remain free from unnecessary additives while maintaining efficacy. Our approach will enable better control over encapsulation efficiency and bioactive release, resulting in superior products that meet consumer demand for natural and sustainable options.

Beyond health applications, the insights gained from this research will provide a foundation for future advancements in bio-based plastics. By understanding powder properties at a fundamental level, we will be better equipped to develop sustainable alternatives to synthetic materials, contributing to a more circular and environmentally friendly economy.

By combining expertise in material science, food technology, and sustainability, Cleobury PM is setting a new standard in the development of high-performance powders. The project will generate valuable knowledge for both industry and academia, paving the way for innovative applications and broader commercial adoption of advanced spray-dried formulations.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
