Mental health conditions affect more than 250M children globally, costing about $387.2B every year. Shockingly, governments worldwide only allocate 2.1% of their overall health budget for mental health provision. In the UK, the number of young people with mental health issues has increased from one in nine in 2017 to one in six in 2021\. Despite an extra £1.25M in funding since 2015, only 27% of those in need can access mental health support. Digital interventions are showing promise, but they tend to target single mental health conditions and lack engagement.

To solve this unmet need, Beginnings is developing MindPsy, a revolutionary app that passively monitors wellbeing behaviour to provide timely, engaging, XR therapeutic support and prevent mental health decline. The app can prevent mental health decline and improve academic attainment, impacting parents, children and the mental health workforce.

MindPsy's unique selling point is its ability to provide inclusive, representative and transdiagnostic mental health support regardless of identity, faith, ethnicity or geographical location. By preventing 20% of current referral rates, MindPsy can save the UK economy £11.3M/year, and prevent wider indirect impact on economy of £385M. With MindPsy, Beginnings aims to improve access to mental health support for all and create a healthier, happier society</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
