The current TaskMaster solution extracts information from office systems and provides it to
the mobile user in the form of a workflow, eradicating paperwork and ensuring best practise
process compliance.
As a result of the fast changing mobile marketplace, and the consumerisation of IT customers
are now demanding that their mobility solutions provide the same level of functionality on
any device be it Android, iPhone, Blackberry or tablets and laptops.
This creates a significant technical challenge for TBS when creating the Evolution prototype
software solution to provide a tool that will enable the simple configuration (rather than
development) of process driven, safety conscious applications for any mobile device or
mixture of devices appropriate to each company’s users differing needs.
The Evolution prototype requires TBS to develop an application that works on these multiple,
frequently changing operating systems (OS) to provide a common, multilingual and
comprehensive range of functionality as well as a standardised look and feel. This will require
not only an in depth knowledge of the differing OS’s but also the specific hardware and
firmware differences of multiple manufacturer’s devices. Evolution will be unique in its
single source software platform approach.
As well as providing large enterprises with a flexible mobility platform for all their differing
uses and devices, Evolution will enable TBS to offer solutions on new lower cost devices
which will help broader adoption of the solutions in new cost sensitive market sectors. This
would also enable TBS to enter new international markets where low employment costs
demand low cost solutions.
Time is short if we are to take first mover advantage and benefit from international
showcasing by TBS industry partners IBM and Vodafone.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
