However, at A'level and at College, deeper games are required. Major barriers in this domain include the need to work with experts and specialist tools to create such complex scenario-based games, as well as the diversity of approaches, time, tools and cost.

This is an issue because younger students expect interaction and gamification and it is proven for improving knowledge retention and in enhacing practical expertise in vocational education. Gamification can also be used to enable knowledge management in an ageing workforce.

BrightGame enables anyone to build deep scenario-based learning games. This project sees the development of this novel game creation platform into a scalable adoptable service for UK education. The system translates any process affected by the need to utilise people, time, money or resources into a fun and interactive learning game supporting single and team learner play, double loop learning, systems thinking and 'learning by doing'.

This project supports the development of the prototype into a platform functionality requested by UK quality assurance bodies and early adopters, so that it can be used by teachers for A'level and T'level education development, as well as technical training in apprenticeships. The initiative sees development of collaborative game creation and sharing functions, new game templates and associated logics suited to broader adoption and school/ college applications.

We are now seeking to make the platform market ready and develop innovative functionality relevant to teachers in schools through collaborative development of the online platform.

This initiative sees development of collaborative game creation and sharing functions, new game templates and associated logics suited to broader adoption and school/ college applications. This will enable us to establish a community of teachers and educators who can build and share learning game-creation projects on the platform. Further, we are designing new game templates suited to different learning process offering light competition and goal-oriented situational game developments. These new developments will ensure the platform meets UK educational requirements and adoption can scale.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
