Our disruptive technology protects a wide range of industries and sectors including healthcare, education, agriculture, hospitality, and food manufacturing.

Involvement with Innovate UK will help us to innovate new procedures into the poultry market and provide valuable evidence that our vision for change in that sector is viable and has merit.

Our overall project is based on protecting produce that feeds the global population. Protecting food resources and improving food security is vital. Environmental threats are reducing food sustainability though water shortages, climate change, flooding, and soil erosion. Diseases such as bird flu and harmful pathogens can impact on flock yields. In turn this is creating food shortages and driving up prices which contributes to global food poverty.

We've developed an innovative new water-based biodegradable disinfectant targeted at the agricultural and animal market. It has residual efficacy and continues to kill pathogens once dried. We have also developed new dry coating application protocols. These simplify application, improve efficacy, and reduce chemical use.

Poultry is a fundamental source of protein both in the UK and globally. With human population growth rapidly expanding, it's important to safeguard this resource, improve efficiencies and build better food security.

The outcomes of the project will support the UK Government food strategy and security policies and will also support Goal 2 of the UN Agenda for Sustainable Development: "End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture".

We have developed new disinfectants and methods of application that have many advantages:

-Improved biosecurity leads to improved flock health and yields.

-Easier and more effective application.

-Reduced operating costs helps to combat food inflation.

-Less overall use of harsh chemicals.

-Switching to biodegradable water-based disinfectants is better for the environment than the harsh chemicals currently used.

The Innovate UK Unlocking Potential Award will help us achieve our goals, and therefore combat food poverty Importantly, Innovate UK's work of promoting and supporting innovation are valuable in helping to grow the UK economy and ensure that innovators are inspired to become enablers and industry leaders at the forefront of invention and improvement. We support and are proud to be a part of this.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
