through-wall corrosion leading to gas escapes. The ageing UK high-rise building stock
presents a significant public safety issue for; the gas distribution companies; the tier 1
contractors, SME gas service industry &amp;amp; the public. Gas companies are faced with the high
cost of replacing the old infrastructure causing severe disruption to supply. A cost effective
way to upgrade the failing infrastructure is to recondition the existing pipework. MW
Polymers have supplied resins for gas pipes for &amp;gt;27 years and its products are Gas Industry
Standard LC8 &amp;amp; DIN 30658 approved. Our proof of concept project will focus on meeting
the sector need for a reliable, cost effective and easily applied pipe lining that is specially
designed for high-rise dwellings &amp;amp; fully compliant with gas regulations. In the project we will
develop a unique resin formulation and applicator system for varying gas supply pipe sizes
and we will demonstrate its viability on complex riser &amp;amp; lateral configurations, without the
need to dig or disturb the fabric of the building.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
