A critical economic challenge due to rising costs, coupled with a shortage of seasonal labour, has placed immense pressure on growers, threatening the profitability and sustainability of British fruit production. A recent British Berry Growers survey revealed that 47% of growers are no longer profitable, and 40% could go out of business by 2026 if conditions don't improve. Neurabotics Ltd. is embarking on a vital feasibility study to determine if our innovative robotic technology can provide a much-needed solution to this urgent economic challenge.

This project explores the development of an autonomous fruit harvester that is both exceptionally fast and energy-efficient, with the potential to significantly enhance the profitability of fruit farms and secure the future of the industry. Current autonomous harvesters are hindered by slow picking speeds and unsustainable energy consumption, which each contribute to higher operating costs. Neurabotics' patented technology directly addresses these limitations, dramatically reducing the time and energy required to harvest fruit compared to existing solutions. This translates to lower operating costs for growers, as fewer devices are needed to achieve the same picking output, paving the way for a return to profitability and a more sustainable business model.

This feasibility study will concentrate on developing the advanced hardware and artificial intelligence required to demonstrate high-speed strawberry harvesting in a real-world growing environment. While the initial focus is on strawberries, our technology is designed to be adaptable to a wide range of fruits and vegetables, ensuring broader applicability and long-term impact. Ultimately, this project aims to revitalize the UK's soft fruit industry, contributing to a more secure, sustainable, and prosperous food system for the nation.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
