These features combine to offer a step change in vehicle design for energy efficiency. The elimination of torsional loads to the chassis enables vehicle designers to significantly reduce the mass of the car body. A Massachusetts Inst. of Tech. report stated that &amp;quot;Vehicle weight reductions … could alone result in some 12–20% reduction in vehicle fuel consumption” by 2035. Additionally, the suspension offers improved ride quality in a smaller car which may aid the adoption of smaller vehicles into the mass market.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
