10144489Reducing or Replacing Steel and Concrete (RoReSaC)ClosedSmall Business Research InitiativeInnovate UKAt the conclusion of this project we will be demonstrating the feasibility of replacing or reducing the use of steel and concrete in rail infrastructure applications through the use of certain other materials. This will not only lead to less steel and concrete being used, but we will also show how the alternative materials can reduce the carbon footprint as well as deliver a number of other environmental and economic benefits. These benefits will be quantified. We are directly addressing some other key barriers of adoption for the alternative materials in this project.
