satellite application products and services for both domestic and agricultural markets.
The UK continues to see economic growth but with this comes issues such as fuel security,
monitoring and management. So with over 1800 domestic oil clubs and 300,000 farms in the
UK, what is being done to secure, monitor and manage stock? It is known that nationally oil
and diesel products are now the third on the list of items most targeted by thieves, costing
£42million per year.
A key aim of this project is to help reduce crime and with the use of satellite application
technology, track the thefts providing evidence to support convictions.
Over the full life-cycle of this project the aim is to produce products and services to support
the end user, enabling them to secure, monitor and manage their fuel supply. The project will
use satellite application solutions in collaboration with key technology providers and establish
a regulated and structured service that will benefit the domestic oil users and the agricultural
industry.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
