Working with SMEs, we have found that many are in one of two situations: either over-reliant on third parties to access their Management Information, waiting for monthly or quarterly reviews, or spending hours manually creating and analysing that data on spreadsheets. This hinders real-time decision-making and can be detrimental to a business's growth. As a result, we are looking to begin industrial research for our Augmented Analytics platform, Robin. Acting as a Virtual CFO, Robin will allow underserved SMEs to leverage the power of AI to monitor, plan and forecast their business performance in minutes without the need for a full-time CFO. Through this industrial research, we will explore the dynamics of SMEs and Accountants and how a centralised AI-enabled platform can help them streamline their processes. This will help SMEs gain instant access to insights for informed decisions, whilst accountants can manage more clients simultaneously, focus on high-value tasks, and improve trust in the platform. In the long term, we also plan to use these Augmented Analytics functionalities to support the self-employed market. With HMRCs Personal Tax Digital coming in 2024, we will simplify financial planning by connecting data across platforms (e.g. bank, credit card, shares) and providing access to Augmented Analytics innovation we create through this project.
