CO2 contributes to climate change and is currently the most emitted greenhouse gas in the UK. Reducing CO2 emissions will help the UK reach its net zero goal by 2050\. Direct air capture (DAC) removes CO2 from the atmosphere, but existing systems are costly and take a long time to produce. To increase the impact of DAC systems, they need to be cheaper and faster to make. This would mean they can be used in more locations and dramatically increase the amount of CO2 captured.

AVE is developing a highly effective, scalable and impactful DAC system that is at least 4x faster to manufacture than other currently available DAC solutions. By combining unique technical expertise, innovative techniques and rapid production methods, AVE will dramatically reduce the time (by a factor of 4x) and space requirements associated with the capturing of atmospheric CO2\. AVE's system will not only maximise the amount of material contained per system but also minimise associated flow losses. AVE One will be a highly efficient, streamlined and rapidly manufacturable DAC system.

AVE will offer businesses lower-cost, high-rating carbon credits to help them easily offset their emissions and achieve their carbon-neutral/negative goals. AVE will provide a platform that will allow businesses of all sizes to offset their emissions, enabling a faster transition towards a true net-neutral economy.

AVE's DAC unit removes the same quantity of CO2/year as 3K trees during their full life cycle but occupies less space. CO2 removed by AVE One can be stored permanently (1K+ years), unlike trees that release much of their captured CO2 upon decomposition.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
