There are 29 million homes in the UK, all of which require some form of retrofitting to help achieve our net zero goals by 2050\. This means we need to tackle 2 homes a minute between now and then.

An under-developed supply chain and spiralling sector costs are further complicating this mammoth task. But what if we could pair digital tools with existing learning and information to tackle these challenges and make retrofit at the scale and speed we need a reality?

**Energiesprong StockMatch**

Drawing on its experience of rolling out whole house retrofit in the UK, Energiesprong UK (ESUK) is developing a data-driven retrofit pipeline generation tool known as 'StockMatch.'

This will identify properties of common housing archetypes at national level and match them with archetype-level retrofit designs. It's designed to help reduce costs, nurture the supply chain and unlock a functioning, self-financing whole house retrofit market by:

\*Delivering significantly shortened design time

\*Incorporating real-life performance data to help reduce risk, improve the business case and secure finance.

\*Focusing on scalable, offsite manufactured and smart energy solutions to expand the market.

\*Aggregating demand from Housing Providers that own these archetypes to provide a pipeline for suppliers and enabling investment in manufactured solutions.

The result? A zero-carbon roadmap for Housing Providers, with a business case and direct links to installers. Where whole house retrofit is not immediately possible, individual measures can be procured instead. Grant eligibility is also assessed.

The primary clients are social housing providers, retrofit contractors and component manufacturers.

**Making iterative learning the industry standard**

StockMatch draws on Energiesprong UK's learning from rolling out the revolutionary Dutch-developed Energiesprong approach to decarbonising housing -- from in-depth knowledge of the barriers to a deep understanding of the leverage points for change.

The Energiesprong model combines maintenance savings with income from renewable energy and householder contributions to create a 30-year financial case for zero carbon retrofit.

ESUK also has a wealth of digital experience, including developing a housing stock mapping tool, as well as a strong monitoring and performance analysis background.

StockMatch will be tested through Energiesprong UK's involvement in the Mayor of London's Retrofit Accelerator -- Homes Innovation Partnership, which brings together eight social Housing Providers and four main contractors delivering a pipeline of 1,600 homes.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
