Insect pests are responsible for an annual crop loss worth £320 billion globally. In this project we will apply our technology to improve agricultural productivity with aid of early detection and real time information on insect populations. This has a potential to dramatically reduce the damage done by insect pests to food produced and enable a massive reduction in insecticide use. This will deliver substantial increases in productivity while also massively reducing the negative environmental impact due to excessive insecticide use.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
