sialorrhea or Chronic Pathological Drooling (CPD) in children. CPD is a common and
disabling manifestation of several neurological disorders including cerebral palsy and
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and for which no treatment is currently licensed. It is an often
overlooked condition with consequences that are both medical and psychological. These
include irritated and macerated facial skin, dehydration, constant wetness and foul odour of
clothing, interference with interpersonal relationships and lowering of self-esteem. Following
a successful TSB Proof of Market grant to develop the business case for a novel
glycopyrronium formulation to treat severe CPD, this follow on grant funding will enable
Proveca to develop a prototype formulation for clinical trial testing and paediatric licensing
(via the Paediatric Use Marketing Authorisation route).</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
