The Gender Pension Gap (GPeG) is a pressing societal and economic challenge.

Today, women retire 35% poorer than men, with an average woman saving today having only £12,000 to live on each year in retirement.

To address this, Maji aims to develop a UK-first female-specific digital pension planner, specifically targeted to the needs of female savers.

Maji is a financial wellbeing platform for UK employers, supporting many companies and users. As such, a female-focused pension planner is a logical extension of Maji's existing products.

**Drive to deliver**

This project is my mission to empower women with the tools they need for a secure financial future. As a woman in finance, I have seen the inequality in women's wealth and its impact on wellbeing. With my background in Gender Studies and Behavioural Economics, I am uniquely positioned to tackle the GPeG and enable others to achieve improved financial outcomes.

I believe that mentoring is a vital part of the innovation ecosystem. As others have provided support to me, I relish the opportunity to give back to others. As a gay woman living outside of London, I know firsthand how important it is that young, regional, LGBT+ people see themselves represented and are shown that the entrepreneurial world is open to them too.

**Vision**

We envision Maji as the go-to platform for employee financial wellbeing, particularly for underserved audiences. Our ambition is to close the GPeG and pave the way for more gender-specific financial tools to improve financial outcomes for the UK population.

**Target Achievements**

Receiving the Women in Innovation Award will enhance Maji's growth potential by funding the development of a new product and providing evidence for further investment. This award offers much more than financial support; it represents an opportunity to learn and to give back.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
