CRT glass has a high lead content and is now a priority waste stream under the WEEE directive. Quinn Technology has been working on a process to recycle this glass. Our process is able to recover &amp;gt;90% of lead from the glass, whereas existing processes typically recover ~50%. The process will be more cost, time and energy efficient than current processes that employ high temp. furnaces &amp;amp; smelting. Our aqueous technology will significantly increase extracted value &amp;amp; improve profitability of CRT glass recycling. We aim to exploit directly &amp;amp; also license our technology for de-centralised CRT glass recovery plants located at/close to recycling points. Our technology will allow more efficient recovery, using less energy with lower costs, while reducing transport carbon footprint, enhancing economic &amp;amp; environmental performance of the industry.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
