Individuals accessing debt charities reported a 25% increase in unsecured debt. Citizens Advice Bureau addressed over 2000 debt issues per day in the year to June 2023 (themoneycharity.org, 2023). This indicates that whilst FS are continuing to provide credit products, repayment likelihood is reducing.

FS are currently facing unusually high levels of default, and rising debt write-offs (~£3M per day in Q1; 2023) forcing them to become more risk averse, and relying on loss-making collections services to recover unpaid debts. Even in 'normal' economic times, for defaulting customers who _do_ agree to restructured repayments, only ~14% go on to repay their debts. Addressing this problem in a healthy, proactive and inexpensive manner is a pain-point for FS.

Digital management of credit repayments, budgeting and debt prevention solutions using open-banking to monitor and manage transactions, can reduce problem debt. However, these methods only 'tell' consumers what to do, or do it for them, rather than teach self-management, and prevent future or recurrent negative events.

Critically, they don't address financial behaviours and attitudes which will continue to thwart their efforts to achieve financial health, leaving a clear opening for a solution which directly improves financial behaviour, decision-making and rehabilitates them towards a long-term, low-risk, high LTV future, to benefit individuals and FS alike.

Good With's mission is to fix this.

We'll apply our existing knowledge to improving outcomes for financial services and consumers around repayment behaviours, specifically in the interlude between customer acquisition and collections, through the development of a Dynamic Financial Health Index.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
