Namely, the treatment of a highly aggressive form of breast tumours, triple negative breast cancer, for which current treatment options are ineffective. This is reflected in the high mortality of the disease in the UK and elsewhere. As a result of more than nearly two decades of intense investigations, we have identified a vulnerability in triple negative breast cancer cells. Our innovation exploits such vulnerability by interfering with the process that controls the proliferation of triple negative breast cancer cells.

We have obtained exciting Proof of Concept biological and pharmacological data showing that our technology effectively halts the proliferation of cancer cells. Importantly, our technology satisfies critical pharmacological properties that enables its use for the treatment of highly aggressive breast tumours.

Our technology will improve the life of breast cancer patients, their families and carers. It will also inform practitioners of medical and social care and medical regulatory bodies of forefront methods for the treatment of breast cancer of high mortality (e.g., of poor prognosis).</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
