It is a collaborative project to deliver a step-change technology that will enable the transition to fuel cell and battery propulsion systems for a broad cross-sector of customers across a wide range of transport applications.

Growing demand for ZEP systems cannot be satisfied against the constrained availability of engineering capability and capacity in the UK and Europe.

The high cost of engineering bespoke integration projects for electric propulsion systems, and more specifically hydrogen fuel cell propulsion systems - to provide efficient, robust, safe systems compliant with sector requirements - is a significant barrier to many manufacturers.

Project Hypergration aims to tackle this key issue, unblocking a significant restriction in the uptake of hydrogen ZEP across the rail, marine, aerospace, commercial, and other vehicle sectors and accelerating the introduction of a range of ZEP vehicles. The project will lead to a significant reduction in cost of bringing hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles to market, equipping Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs with platforms that package Hypermotive's expertise in fuel cell integration into a flexible commercial volume product for development projects and low to mid volume production.

The new product family and software development environment will allow ZEP developers to quickly deliver an optimised, efficient powertrain design and control system on production-intent hardware - without requiring costly bespoke engineering integration programmes. The cost and time savings on ZEP system development will be significant, whilst providing confidence that the ramp up in systems maturity, quality and volume manufacturing required to reach series production can also be met with the same software and hardware product family.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
