Biobutanol – a superior fuel to ethanol - can be produced from carbon neutral renewable biomass via the bacterial Clostridia fermentation process. In this project we aim to integrate SBP with the butanol fermentation to speed up sugar conversion rates to solvents and also to assist with product recovery. We aim to establish the principles for SBP as applied to the butanol fermentation, design industrial protocols and equipment, and quantify the patentable benefits accordingly.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
