58010Covid-19 PPE - PeRSo Powered Air-Purifying Respirator (PAPR)ClosedFeasibility StudiesInnovate UKOur project aims to develop and manufacture at high volumes an affordable and reusable powered air-purified respirator with hood and integrated mask (the PeRSo) which will enable frontline NHS staff and healthcare workers to remain safe, work effectively and in comfort whilst treating patients. The idea is for the PeRSo to supplement and even replace the current use of surgical masks or respirator masks (N95/FFP3) which are in short supply globally and with significant challenges continuing in the supply chain. The PeRSo will provide personal protection to the user when working in a contaminated environment. The PeRSo will provide clean air to the user via breathing tube and respirator hood so that the user can safely, confidently, comfortably and effectively look after patients in the current Covid-19 pandemic. Through this project we can scale to a high-volume manufacture of PeRSo so they become standard issue to staff on the frontline. Our NHS & frontline staff are working incredibly hard to save lives during the Covid-19 pandemic and we believe this product can help them stay safe and resilient when we need them most.
