Over the coming decades, we'll be transitioning away from oil, and new solutions are needed from materials based on plants. Xampla has developed an entirely new material, made from peas. It's entirely natural, with no synthetic ingredients, 100% biodegradable and biocompatible. Researchers at the University of Cambridge have developed innovative processes to engineer pea protein to create new materials that are useful in applications in food, cosmetics, household products, animal feed, packaging and medicine. The company's launch products will have a major impact on the issue of microplastic pollution in our oceans. This project aims to develop the company's materials into packaging and other larger plastic structures, to enable the transition from oil-based materials and reducing impact on the environment.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
