These bio-resources represent a significant opportunity as a sustainable, renewable and clean source of carbon free energy. To date these resources have not been viewed as a potential fuel source, at least not in any commercial or industrial setting. Additionally, a number of these resources are being mishandled and over application is rife, especially across the UK and Ireland, leading to a compounding, degrading environmental impact. To our water, air and soil and inevitably to our health and quality of life.

However, in recent years a change has occurred and the following vulnerabilities have become apparent:

* Energy supply volatility and potential for manipulation as a political weapon
* Meaning increasing energy costs, costs of living and decreasing competitiveness on the world stage
* Energy, food and water security
* Mismanagement of bioresources leading to undeniable negative environmental impacts, surpassing critical tipping points. The River Wye in Wales and Lough Neagh in Northern Ireland are the two most prevalent examples of this

To address the above vulnerabilities we must make the following changes:

* Significantly increase the value we extract from current bioresources
* Realise the potential of the large volumes of the readily available material as a carbon negative fuel source
* Focus much more intently on nutrient management and utilize nutrients and minerals in these bioresources in both a more measured and strategic manner
* Transition towards 'at-source' energy creation, decreasing our dependence on other countries
* Simultaneously release more value from these fractions, while converting them to a more environmentally friendly/beneficial state.

The utilization of bioresources from the agricultural sector hold significant benefit for :

1.CO2 capture and application

2.Water, energy and food security.

As our population grows and our soil and environmental conditions degrade, under current practices. The challenge to meet this global food demand is becoming increasingly challenging. So we must focus on advancing and supporting agricultural practices not 'deleting' agriculture due simply to outdated/under advanced practices.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
