This is a high growth market and the technology is sponsored by Petrobras, Saudi Aramco and via a TSB prototype development (720002).Based on Schlumberger/BP statistics, global Oil and Gas companies routinely incur downtime costs estimated as GBP 812,000,000 caused by failed wellbore enlargement (underreaming). Underreaming is essential to maximise production rates. This is most true in high-cost deepwaters which often require 6 enlarged sections per well and rig costs exceed GBP 1,000,000 per day. Our objective is to secure a solid patent portfolio in the lucrative deepwater underreaming / drilling domain. We have secured several patents in-house but have reached a critical point where external IP experts are required to maximise value. Consequently, the patents protect the technology and the technology underpins the patents.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
