a combination of a person’s soft skills, learning styles and work role preferences. It will be
made available in 6 different European languages and business cultures.
It will aid employers to define the soft skills needed for a work role and job seekers to
understand & articulate their soft skills and aptitudes and, through its job-matching tool, build
a structured comparison of the two. Used with a qualifications/experience assessment, it will
greatly enhance both recruitment and development processes.
Context: EU unemployment currently stands at 23m (UK +2m) with more public sector job
cuts looming as governments implement measures to control debt. In the UK a person moving
from unemployment to a job earning £24k per year is worth + £11k to UK government (in
taxes and benefits). This innovative tool addresses the need employers express for recruiting
people with the ‘right’ soft skills & attitudes so reducing staff churn & maximising
productivity.
Innovation:
- assessment of learning styles, entrepreneurial potential and ‘approaches to new
challenges’ is a combination currently unique in psychometric platforms
- matching the soft skills of a work role with soft skills and employability development
programmes – again unique
- transnational nature of the tool enabling organisations and candidates to complete
assessments in their own language;
- outputs that reflect differing EU cultural & business needs.
Benefits: Significant societal and economic benefits in use of the tool to recruit the “right
person for right job”; enhancing the economic prosperity and sustainable employment for
individuals, employers and economic communities.
Exploitation: Initially through large group of existing UK/EU contacts.
Summary: A validated multilingual/cultural webhosted international psychometric assessment
tool for European use in recruitment & employability.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
