The device will be a wearable sensor designed to fit on the underside of a watch strap and compatible with iOS, android smart watches and phones. The sensor will take real time measurements, connected via Bluetooth to a phone/watch where the app will provide alerts to the user and if required, physicians/carers in real time. Battery life of 10-14 days and shelf life of at least 2 years. POC clinical trial completed in 2020, results show tracking of BG comparable to the market leader and included algorithm training. Device is now at TRL6, with components integrated into ‘first-pass’ of wearable design and in-house developmental testing conducted, including subjects tested in non-clinical environments and further algorithm building.
