These models can be captured by 3D scanners or cameras, where the resulting data point clouds are integrated into a digital format. An object is then printed through an additive process in which successive layers of material are formed by computer controls. However at present there is a lack of commercially available technology that combines both 3D image capture and printing in one device. LIG 3D has identified this gap in the market and will develop a multifunctional machine capable of capturing 3D object geometry, converting it into a digital file and then printing a replica.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
