The process uses advanced electrochemistry to modify the molecular structure of hydrocarbon-based waste materials (oils, rubbers, plastics) by allowing unwanted contaminants (sulphur, metals, chlorine, etc.) to be extracted by a low cost, near zero emission process. The outputs are low sulphur fuel (able to meet the new IMO2020 shipping regulations) suitable for agricultural machinery, for energy generation or domestic heating and Naphtha which can be used to produce new plastics. 

The scaling up of the FEP could provide a massive cost and environmental saving when recovering hydrocarbons and it is a strong alternative to Refinery processes that are high cost, high emission, and large energy consuming processes such as hydro-treating. FEP does not need or use hydrogen or hydro-treating.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
