The main technical challenges in recycling peat-free organic materials for these specialist sectors are quality, consistency, mould suppressiveness and nutrient balance. This project will help to meet the Defra target of phasing out peat from UK horticulture by 2030 and contribute to achieving net zero emissions. The project team conducting the work includes leading growers, scientists, engineers, and multiple UK retailers.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
