Building on our extensive experience and successful collaborations with Warwick Manufacturing Group(WMG), Pure-Electric, and Trek Bicycle Corporation, we seek to address critical gaps in the current market for e-bicycle and e-scooter display units. Existing display units are often bulky, lack weatherproofing, and do not support efficient communication protocols for transferring AI-synthesized video frames with high latency and frame rates. Our project aims to overcome these challenges and deliver a robust, high-performance solution.

The key objectives of our project include innovative design and technology integration, enhanced rider safety, market and growth impact, and commercialization and scalability. We will develop a sleek, weatherproof display unit specifically designed for bicycles and light transport vehicles. This unit will implement a new communication protocol that efficiently transfers high-frame-rate video frames from the AI-engine to the display unit. Additionally, we will create compact and durable cable harnessing connectors capable of supporting high-bit-rate data transfer over extended distances.

The display unit will act as a human-machine interface(HMI), providing real-time alerts and feedback to riders about potential hazards and safety conditions. Advanced detection and zone-mapping features will be incorporated to ensure optimal performance in various scenarios, such as near front, far front, blind spots, and more. By introducing this new product line, we aim to address the growing demand for advanced safety solutions in the micromobility market, fostering innovation and stimulating economic growth within the creative cluster in England. This is particularly relevant in regions supported by the Department for Culture, Media and Sports(DCMS) Create Growth Programme.

DOCK-Y has engaged closely with key suppliers in the market who understand DOCKY's safety solution and have expressed their willingness to take the unit to production provided the communication protocol problem is solved. Leveraging the solutions generated from this project, these suppliers can use the data to develop boards, controllers, assembled parts on the board, and assist in developing the harness, connectors, and display unit using tooling and manufacturing processes.

The project is expected to have positive regional impacts by creating jobs, stimulating local economies, and fostering innovation in the micromobility sector.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
