Focus initially will be on replacement of PET in bottles used in the soft drink sector with moulded paper pulp. Based on initial research and LCA analysis it is anticipated that an alternative bottle manufactured from recycled waste paper would have a carbon footprint 20% that of an equivalent PET bottle and negate the use of petrochemical derived polymers. To be commercially viable, effort is required to establish a sustainable process that can meet the production volume, product accuracy and quality standards required by the soft drinks industry at a comparable cost. Natural Resources (2000) Limited will work with Britvic Soft Drinks Limited to better understand the raw material, its handling and ultimately it’s processing to meet end user needs.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
