Because putt shots are so numerous, even small improvements in the accuracy of these shots
would pay off. Putter head design is currently determined by convention, not science. The
project will test the market for new designs of putter head based on a novel concept, namely
optimising the total mass and mass distribution across the head. This promises a revolution in
the design of putter heads. The behaviour of a putter depends on both physics and human
factors and in this project the potential of our ideas are to be tested in the market.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
