Power from the sea that doesn't cost the earth. We are doing wave power, differently. We are designing a &amp;quot;mini&amp;quot; wave energy converter for the maritime industry which will provide portable, powerful and cost effective power.

By innovating in Wave Energy Converters (WECs),we have reduced the number of moving parts per generator from over 30 down to 1\. To do this, we have been inspired by recent advances in motor design from the automotive industry. By applying these advances to the well-understood Oscillating Water Column (OWC), we have been able to create small simple prototypes, which we have already proven at sea. Our devices are reliable and powerful, and are able to provide power to a wide range of off-grid maritime use cases. Our patent-pending \[AM1\] generator design is designed to operate efficiently in a broad range of sea states, which gives a consistency to its power output far greater than that of other renewable options.

While our future ambitions include grid-connected devices, history tells us there are numerous barriers to entry for WECs of that size, therefore our first devices are of smaller scale, serving maritime users like leisure yachts, service vessels and navigational aids, all of whom have need for power and challenges currently providing it.

We have conducted initial testing of our prototype WECs at sea, with encouraging results. Currently we have 2 prototype development tracks, a &amp;quot;works-like&amp;quot; and a &amp;quot;looks-like&amp;quot;. This project will unify the two prototypes, incorporating the functionality of the former with the look and feel of the latter. The current &amp;quot;looks like&amp;quot; prototype is non-functional, and the current &amp;quot;works-like&amp;quot; is far larger and more unwieldy than necessary, due to it incorporating a number of modular sections that are changed for testing, and having an array of sensors that are unnecessary for a customer version.

Never before has small-scale wave power been attempted, consequently we have the opportunity to create a new industry in the UK, and pioneer a novel way of decarbonizing the maritime industry. We are working on market creation around small-scale wave power. Having a prototype that both looks and works will help us to communicate this story better to the world, unlocking further private investment in the future and securing collaborations, pilots and conversions.

We can redefine how vessels are powered. Our MVP, delivered by this project, is a key step in that journey.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
