The innovation lies in the utilisation of a static head of water to drive water treatment processes. This innovation displaces significant energy requirements in the movement of water to realise substantial economic and environmental benefits.
This project is a collaboration between Minus Engineering Ltd and University of Exeter’s Camborne School of Mines. The project has proven the benefits of the process at pilot scale for the treatment of acid rock drainage (ARD). The project is a precursor to commercialisation and this innovative technology will be exploited to reduce energy consumption over a range of applications from ARD to the recovery of metals from waste water to sewerage utility applications. The primary target market is the international mine water treatment market.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
