The platform generates integrated schedules and transport plans that reduce cost, lead time, and CO2 emissions, while respecting real-world business constraints such as site capacities, supplier lead times, warehouse availability, due dates, and carbon targets.

This project will take the existing NetQ prototype, developed and validated during our win in the Airbus--BMW Quantum Computing Challenge, and turn it into a commercial product.

NetQ is innovative in both its technical architecture and practical value. Most current tools treat production and logistics separately or oversimplify one domain to solve the other. NetQ solves them as a single, integrated optimisation problem using a hybrid solver architecture. It embeds quantum routines only into selected subcomponents of a modern solver, maintaining scalability and structure. This allows it to deliver value immediately using classical hardware, while remaining ready to benefit from quantum acceleration as the technology matures, and while being able to run on NISQ devices.

The software will be delivered as a cloud-based, modular microservice using a SaaS model. It will integrate with existing ERP and MES systems via standard APIs and be accessible across industries and roles. The system is designed to support manufacturers in aerospace, automotive, and beyond, where even small planning improvements can translate into millions of pounds in savings and significant emissions reductions.

By developing NetQ into a market-ready platform, this project will unlock new commercial opportunities, generate exportable intellectual property, and contribute to the UK's leadership in AI, optimisation, and applied quantum technologies.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
