Over 90% of UK children lack fundamental movement skills (FMS) like hopping, running, and skipping---key predictors of lifelong physical inactivity and chronic illness, including heart disease, diabetes, and poor mental health. This growing crisis is driven by reduced physical play, increased screen time, and a lack of scalable tools for skill development.

Healthy Kidz, a leading provider of physical activity programmes in over 120 schools and 200 clubs, is partnering with MoveAhead, a university spinout offering the world's only validated child-specific movement analytics platform. Together, they deliver a scalable, evidence-based model that combines real-time insight, targeted development, and family engagement---reaching children in and beyond the classroom.

Project Objectives

1. School-Based Assessment
MoveAhead's platform will assess FMS in primary schools, providing age- and gender-benchmarked data to teachers and coaches. This enables early identification and tailored support for every child.
2. Data-Driven Evaluation
Baseline and follow-up reports will measure the impact of Healthy Kidz programmes, supporting continuous improvement and demonstrating value to stakeholders.
3. Inclusive Home Engagement
All children will access MoveAhead's interactive movement games at home, promoting positive screen time and reinforcing skills with family involvement.
4. Scalable Insights
Anonymised data will generate real-time national benchmarks---a UK first---informing equitable support and shaping public health, sport, and education policy.

Why It Matters

Without intervention, poor motor skills lead to early dropout from sport and long-term health decline. Schools are under-resourced, families are disengaged, and providers struggle to scale. This project bridges those gaps---connecting school, home, and provider through science, curriculum, and technology to build physical literacy.

Innovation & Impact

* The only validated tech globally for assessing and personalising child motor development
* Real-time, anonymised data---no images or video captured
* Fully compliant with GDPR, COPPA, and child protection standards
* Equitable access via any device with a camera
* Up-to-date data to inform policy and funding
* Aligned with UK priorities in child health, physical activity, and edtech

This partnership is a blueprint for scalable, lasting impact---community-rooted, science-powered, and built for the children who need it most.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
