A novel heat-pump system has been developed that has potential to disrupt the current technological product offerings in this sector with improved efficiencies and performance at lower cost than products currently on the market. The overall aim of this project is to refine the performance of key components within this system in order to minimise the component costs, improve efficiency and reduce the running noise of the system. Initially this will be achieved by undertaking CAD / CFD modelling of a key component within the system in order to identify suitable materials of construction and potential design improvements to address the key project objectives. This modelling work will utilised to develop prototype components that will be incorporated with the existing product and subject to lab based testing and evaluation of prototype systems to determine the effectiveness of new designs and materials.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
