With NHS priorities shifting towards integrated out-of-hospital care to relieve pressure on acute services, FloKi Health have developed firstly an acute version of an online digital platform, this is agnostic and receives 8 different input technologies supporting and defining the location of medical devices

The novelty to this approach is to have an NHS team articulate the challenges and to collectively develop a digital tool to document and support the solutions of supplying and maintaining medical devices from acute wards to services in the community. This project will facilitate workshops to articulate the challenges focused on a fleet of AmBit care pumps, tracking, planning and evaluating their use and availability in and out of hospitals.

This proof of concept will correlate data and demonstrate to a wider audience the benefits of tracking medical devices in the community. The platform will explore the use of different technologies, the adoption rates and barriers of staff to embrace technology. This is an extension of a previous proof of concept that was clinically based only in acute wards. This solution will help to provide a well-founded basis to grow a service and provide empirical data to support this challenge across the whole NHS service. This 3 month trial will be based at Royal Alexandra Hospital in Glasgow and the local community it serves. There will be many more such projects able to piggyback off this development.

It is entirely feasible and somewhat the intention to develop expert teams within the NHS to correlate, evaluate and present collected data to improve services on an ongoing basis, by helping to develop a use case solution roadmap, a progressive approach can be employed, grouping solutions by value, method and cost of data collection. This blended approach together with the digital platform will provide a tool to be used across the whole NHS service, from procurement through to care at patient's homes. Development of the platform will be focused not just on the present live data but to correlate and evaluate historical data, ultimately developing intelligence based on data. Many further solutions can be developed such as route planning, preventative maintenance, and user alerts.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
