This is even more the case with transport as this is the only sector to not reduce its impact since 2016, and the single largest in the UK at circa 27%. With almost 90% of these transport emissions coming from road transport, accelerating the migration of ICE (internal combustion engine) car drivers to instead use EVs (electric vehicles) is a crucial part of the mission.

With the EVSerious app we are directly addressing the top concerns of consumers - range anxiety, charging deserts and EV ownership costs. Using a combination of deeptech, automation and mass-personalisation our team have developed to help any ICE car owner with a smartphone (avoiding any need for specialist or additional hardware) to evaluate how they drive, their trip lengths, trip chains, stopovers etc all so that we can analyse how this would translate if they drove an EV.

As well as helping with what it typically the second biggest purchase a person will make, we will also help them find the best-match of public EV charging networks.

Crucially we recognise that getting everyone to switch from ICE to EV will not solve congestion issues. So, our service will aim to encourage the use of public transit and active travel by highlighting their virtues of having smaller carbon footprints and helping to burn calories.

This funding request is about supporting us to launch industry pilots to accelerate our path to commercialisation and reducing our time to market. Accessing skills and talents of designers and software engineers that are outside the portfolio of our team's deeptech experience.

We aim for this project to play an important role in reaching a goal of having helped hundreds of thousands of prospective EV buyers by 2025 armed with mobility and EV range data unique to their needs, to crossover from driving fossil fuel (ICE) cars to driving EVs.

This project advances both our commercial readiness level (CRL) and technology readiness level (TRL), while giving us access to expert skills and experience outside the scope of our own more narrowly focused team.

It meets multiple scope criteria set out by government and above all seeks to accelerate reaching NetZero by preventing choices that would otherwise result in new emissions/CO2e (carbon equivalent). The best type of carbon reductions are those never emitted.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
