Commercially available siphonic systems operate by negative pressure sucking water up to
100% full flow. The major limitation with modern siphonic systems is that the basic antivortex
unit incorporates a series of fins and baffles that cause blockages causing failure.
Enverflow Ltd concluded a proof of concept project in 2009, the company validated a decked
gutter pressure assisted system with primary and secondary flow channels, further the
introduction of laminar induced flow units that do not require fins of baffles to create negative
pressure. The project proved the technical and commercial viability of dissipating water safely
at 100% full flow up to 500m intervals instead of the currently restricted 200m through
pressure assisted flow without the use of fins and baffles. This eliminates the need for
multiple discharge pipes within large buildings and unsightly internal and external high level
pipe work; the system also allows for the incorporation of Rain Water Harvesting (RWH)
solutions. Enverflow wish to develop their Pressure Assisted Rainwater System (PARS) to
meet UK &amp;amp; EU standards by also indentifying and implementing recycled composite and
alternative metallic materials in order to enhance the flow, pressure and self priming nature of
the proposed systems. Qualification will be assessed through the use of Automatic Data
Processing (ADP) Computational fluid Dynamics (CFD) software. Enverflow state that the
UK siphonic industry is currently worth in excess of &amp;pound;20million and growing approximately
5% per annum, the total UK/EIRE rainwater market is worth &amp;pound;66million. The company
envisage capturing 10% (&amp;pound;2 million) of the UK siphonic market within the first 3 years of
launch moving to 20% (&amp;pound;4 million) within year 5; in parallel, capturing up to 5% (&amp;pound;15million)
of the EU and global siphonic market by year 5.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
