The company’s first product, Kare Kot, has been designed by the Company Director, following the experience of her own daughter sustaining minor injuries in a traditional ‘barred cot’. Subsequent research, revealed a significant number of serious injuries, and even deaths, caused by traditional cot design. Kare Kot, which is a crib, cot and toddler bed combined, seeks to alleviate and remove the dangers inherent in traditional cot design and challenges traditional views of what a cot should look and feel like. Its innovative British design significantly reduces opportunities for babies and toddlers to injure themselves whilst in (what should be) a safe and secure environment. Kare Kot will revolutionise the cot market, which has been unchallenged by innovative products for some time. The ultimate aim is to ensure babies and toddlers can sleep more safely and soundly.

The aim is to:
• Reduce the potential for babies to injure themselves whilst sleeping through providing parents and children with a protective and user-friendly sleeping environment that will last throughout a child’s formative years
The immediate objective is to:
• Finalise Kare Kot design to prepare for retail of Kare Kot to the UK, European and American markets, building sales and thereby starting to change the perception of Kare Kot from a niche product to one that becomes a highly attractive, well-built, design- led, viable, realistic and achievable alternative purchase for parents
The outcome will be:
• Ultimately, and ambitiously, a significant change in consumer understanding and purchasing habits for cotbeds globally, as the unique benefits of Kare Kot become more widely known, understood and valued.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
