From Spring 2014 this is being extended to include domestic installations. One of the limitations to real world domestic biomass installations is the need for large hot water storage tanks (1,000 to 2,000 litres), equivalent to between 5 and 10 domestic baths, for heat storage. Whilst current large water based heat accumulators allow for multiple heat inputs (eg solar thermal + biomass) the size is still a prohibitive factor for many potential users. Our idea is to introduce a system which allows multiple distributed small hot water storage tanks around a property, arranged in a cascade system This greater flexibility can facilitate greater take up of domestic biomass heating systems.</ns2:abstractText></ns2:project>
